Urban Chair: Rethinking Street Furniture
August 2020 - Competition entry
This urban bench aims to bring people together by offering a non-standard seating practice. It is built of voxels that light up, that can respond to cultural and environmental landscapes instantly. Each voxel measures 10”x10”x10”, building on top of itself in steps. The main bench is a series of wood planks held in between the voxels. It creates an intimate moment regardless of where the bench rests. Besides the central bench, anyone can sit atop and on the sides.
Simply put - it is a bench and an urban folly.
